I went to the Fat Cat Cafe yesterday and I think this place has a lot of promise but I was disappointed with a few of the items we ordered. The crab and lobster sandwich was very bland, dry, and I really didn't like it, and the fries were a bit overcooked. On the positive side the smoked chicken quesadillas were incredibly good as well as the onion ring haystacks, very delicious! My husband also liked his burger which came served true to his order (rare). When we return, I think I will rethink my order and try the lobster mac and cheese, which everyone is raving about.
The place was super busy (on a Tuesday afternoon!) and service was good and generally fast. We had our 2 small children with us and it was family friendly as well. It's nice to see a new place opening and succeeding in Quincy Center---we'll definitely be back!

I tried getting in there one night with my wife and it was packed. I hear the place is great, but it is small and tough to get in. Great comfort food! I am anxious to try it.Eat what you like and let the food fight it ou

I'm going to wait awhile before trying the place. It seems to be completely packed most of the time, with all the publicity they have been getting. We tried to get in awhile back and it was a total mob scene.

We tried to get in at night during the week it was packed with a long wait. We read the reviews and wanted to give it a try. Like most new places that open in Quincy everyone hears about it and flocks there to try it. I'll wait a few months and let the hipe die down.

we went last night.  we got there just before 6...within a few minutes of us arriving, all the tables were filled.  pretty packed for early-ish on a tuesday so i imagine it is a good wait on fri/sat.

food and atmosphere were both great.  we didn't do the entree route but were seated near the kitchen and everything that went by looked great.  i got their mussels (an app, technically) and a side of fries.  mussels were very good and i enjoyed the crisp fries too.  my husband got the chicken philly which was also quite good...and generous on the chicken.

definitely a new favorite.  the lack of reservations will hold us back a bit though....the bar is nice but not huge so long waits might be a bit tough.
